Just Thoughts to Ponder

AGENT ORANGE

Vietnam veterans suffering from Agent Orange won another round in court.  The Department of Veterans Affairs must now pay retroactive payments to veterans who have listed prostate cancer and adult diabetes as diseases resulting from exposure to Agent Orange.  These additional diseases are added to the long list of problems that the Federal government acknowledges as linked to Agent Orange.  The back pay could result in disability payments that date back to 1985, which was the beginning date that vets could apply for benefits from Agent Orange illnesses.  You can go to www.va.gov for more information.

MAIL TO TROOPS

Our mail volume has had to have gone up since this Iraq war, don't you think so?  They say this war will last as long as the Vietnam War, or longer.  So some of us will receive a little more job security until we retire.  We must get involved and support our troops through the local veteran's groups in our areas.  They are sending care packages, supplies, etc. to our troops overseas.  If all our postal veterans got involved in the southeast area and sent care packages, our mail volume would go up and we would be doing a great thing.  Get in contact with your local veteran's group and participate!
