Postal Acronyms

By Carolyn Pierce,President

BPI, IRM, RMD, TAC, ACO, ACS, LOW -- Acronyms that will change our time at work.  I'll give you a brief description of each so when a know-it-all spits these out you'll know more than they do.

* BPI -- Breakthrough Productivity Initiative: A national program to develop the system that will save the Postal Service billions of dollars.

* IRM -- Integrated Resource Management: A developed system to save billions of dollars by reducing sick calls.

* RMD -- Resource Management Data: A software program that collects a large amount of information on each employee to help the service determine which employees will save the Service billions of dollars.

* TAC -- Time and Attendance Control System: A system which will interface with the RMD system to do exactly as it says, record time and attendance in order to save billions of dollars.

* ACO -- Attendance Control Office: Is an office where all record keeping will be kept such as PS3971s, PS3972s, FMLA certifications, etc.  All of this information kept in one office will save billions of dollars.

* ACS -- Attendance Control Supervisor:  This person will personally save the Postal Service billions of dollars.  Self explanatory.

* LOW -- Letters of Warning:  The result of all of the above less the billions of dollars.
