Strange but profound truths

By Carolyn Pierce, President

How to lose a window job . . .

I know it seems I'm picking on window jobs this month but the results of the WOS surveys (Window Operation Survey) over the last few months are a nightmare.  If you are a window clerk, I know you've seen the POS screen for other customer services.  USE IT!  If you are not familiar with this screen, it gives you many choices as to what business you are conducting.  Whether it's change of address info, vacation hold mail, parcel pickup, responding to CFS issues or giving local directions.  The choices are numerous and they are there for a reason.  Recently, I checked the information compiled by a survey team during a one-week office check.  The window clerks involved had only used the other customer service choices five times.  During the six days, four full time window clerks only did something other than sell services five times?!?  Needless to say, management's hatchet team recommended a full time window clerk position should be eliminated.  Think about this, guys. . . be smart, not lazy. . . use the proper tools given to you.  The job you save could be someone you know.

Peace,

Carolyn
